about

My father gave me the jazz bug, Eroll Garner, Oscar Peterson, Stan Getz and Duke were his favorites. He passed away while I was preparing the music for this record. I flew to France to bury him, give his eulogy, provide emotional support to my family and arrange his affairs. It was a packed week spent lifting others through their pain. I flew back to Boston, got out of the cab, walked into my house and sat at the piano to try and start my grieving. This melody was part of this process and the song developed from there. This song is for him and his gift to me.
